APK won't install? Start here.

These five cause most failed installs. Find the message you're seeing and do what it says below.

  • "For your security, your phone is not allowed to install unknown apps"

    Android blocks apps from outside Google Play until you allow it. Go to Settings › Apps › Special app access › Install unknown apps, pick your browser, and turn on Allow from this source. The menu names differ a little between brands.

  • Play Protect shows a warning

    Play Protect checks every app installed outside Google Play. If you downloaded the file from a link you trust, tap More details, then Install anyway.

  • "App not installed" or not enough storage

    Free up space: delete old APK files in your Downloads folder, clear your browser cache, then download again.

  • The browser stopped the download

    Open the link in Chrome, check the download bar or your Downloads folder, and tap Download anyway if asked.

  • Your Android version is too old

    Older phones may refuse the APK. Skip the install and use the H5 web version in your browser.

Stay safe

Real download or fake? Check before you tap Install.

Fake Winbox APKs go around on chat groups and copycat sites. They look the same on the outside. These signs tell them apart.

Signs it's real

  • You tapped it from a page you trust, like the buttons on this guide.
  • The file name ends in .apk, nothing after it.
  • It downloads straight away. No payment, no top-up first.
  • Installing shows only the normal Android prompts.
  • The app opens to the Winbox login or register screen.

Signs it's fake

  • A stranger sends the file on WhatsApp or Telegram.
  • The name ends in .zip, .exe or a double ending like .apk.zip.
  • It asks you to pay, top up or share an OTP before you can download.
  • It asks for SMS, accessibility or "control your phone" access.
  • Pop-ups say you have won something the moment it opens.

Never share your password or OTP with anyone, including people who say they're from support. If you installed something that looks wrong, uninstall it and download again from a link you trust.
